Fifteen years ago, I walked into Hospice Klang as a volunteer—and never looked back. They needed a nurse, and I was hired on the spot. Since then, it’s been an incredible journey filled with purpose, care, and joy. I’m proud to still be here, doing what I love every day.

I worked at PPUM for 30 years and loved being a nurse. After retiring, I joined Hospice Klang and discovered a whole new side of care. Here, I meet patients facing the end with hope, and families holding on to miracles. Many caregivers feel overwhelmed, but find comfort when we arrive. The greatest reward is helping patients live with dignity and peace in their final days

Terima kasih kepada Hospis Klang yang telah memberikan banyak nasihat, terutamanya dari segi perubatan yang sesuai. Staf Hospis membimbing saya dengan cara untuk memperbaiki tahap kesihatan. Saya benar-benar berasa dihargai dan diberi semangat. Semua staf yang saya temui setakat ini sangat baik hati dan rendah diri.

My mother, in her eighties, lived with stage 4 kidney disease for years. With medication and a strict diet, she avoided dialysis and stayed stable for over a decade. After a fall in March 2025, her health declined and she became bedridden. We brought her home and spent 10 meaningful days together. Hospice Klang responded quickly, offering support and a home visit. Their team adjusted her medication, answered our questions, and prepared us emotionally. They cared not just for her, but for our whole family. She passed away peacefully soon after. We’re truly grateful for their kindness and support.

I never imagined working in a medical organisation when I was younger. Thanks to the Hospice Klang committee, I got the chance to serve alongside passionate healthcare professionals. Here, I’ve learned so much about palliative care while sharing experiences, laughter, and heartfelt moments as we care for the community together.

Your compassion and professionalism have made a big difference—helping us focus on spending time with our mum instead of worrying about the challenges of care. Because of your support, we’re able to care for our mum at home. The loaned equipment and regular home visits have made things so much easier for us. A special thank you to Nurse Nana, Dr Khalidah, and Dr Shahadah for your visits, your patience with our many questions, and for always treating our mum with such respect and tenderness. Your guidance gives us strength and confidence to care for her with love. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything you do.

Nurse dan doktor sentiasa memberikan kaunseling kepada kami agar terus menjaga arwah mak di saat akhir usianya. Setiap kali mereka datang melawat, kesihatan mak diperiksa secara menyeluruh, simptom dirawat, dan ubat-ubatan disediakan untuk meredakan kesakitan dan lain lain. Nurse dan doktor selalu membuatkan mak ceria dengan kemesraan itu membuatkan mak kurang rasa sakit. Mereka senang di hubungi ketika mak tidak sihat untuk mendapatkan rawatan. Terima kasih kepada Hospice Klang yang telah banyak memberikan sokongan kepada kami dalam menguruskan mak serta mempersiapkan diri menghadapi saat-saat yang getir.

I’m proud to be part of the loving and dedicated Hospice Klang team. Every day here teaches me the true meaning of humanity and sincerity—through quiet acts of care, shared strength, and the deep trust placed in us by patients and their families. To serve is not just to help, but to honour each person’s journey with compassion, dignity, and presence. In this space, even the smallest gestures carry great meaning. I am humbled, inspired, and grateful to walk this path.
